Hello, I'm Ernst de Planque.

Most of my working life has circled one question: how do you help people and organisations get better at what they do? That's taken me through sales and account management enablement, technology, AI, data and organisational change. Lately I'm especially interested in what happens once AI stops being a clever tool and starts changing how people work, learn, sell and decide.

But work is only part of what interests me.

I'm curious about a lot of things: why some businesses grow while others struggle, how technology changes behaviour, why certain ideas catch on, how good products get made, what makes a great customer experience. I like finding connections between seemingly unrelated things, and I ask why? rather a lot.

Outside work, I'm happiest exploring somewhere new, usually with my family. I have a soft spot for France, good food, old houses, beautiful interiors and places with real character. I enjoy cooking, travelling, discovering restaurants and hotels, renovating our Victorian house, and generally making things a little nicer than I found them.

This site is where some of that shows up. Some of it will be about work: sales, revenue, AI, leadership, technology, how organisations turn ideas into action. Some of it will be about things I've noticed, learned or gotten curious about along the way.

It isn't a consultancy site or a polished CV. It's just a place to think out loud, share what I'm learning, and follow a few interesting ideas wherever they lead.
